And the SSR controlling the heater element will at least need to be mounted in a metal box to get rid of the heat. Keep an eye on those SSR temps. Some other BCS owner runs 240v at 18 amps through one SSR but they are mounted in a large metal box with thermal paste on the backs of the SSR. Good luck !

Great advice.... The SSR's you see in the box are going to be passing very low amperage. Less than 1 amp each. That is exactly why I moved the SSR for the heating element out of the plastic case. I did not want to deal with heat issues to both the SSR and the plug. The SSR for the heating element will be mounted in a metal outdoor box. I also have a stand-off on the back of the SSR's which are mounted in the box. They do not sit flat against the plastic.

Very nice looking box.

Where did you source the gas valves and 24v transformer?

I purchased the gas valve from Grainger. They also have the 24v transformer, but it is expensive. I ended up purchasing the transformer from Radio Shack.

I was thinking of adding my boiling kettle or HLT to propane. Do you have the Grainger part number so I could look up the cost?

From my notes.....

Honeywell natural gas 24v valve (Can be switched out to propane) - $90.05
Thermocouple - $6.76
Pilot Burner with bracket - $27.25
Pilot Burner Tubing - $18.98
24 volt transformer - $16.18

All items can be ordered from Grainger.
