Re: Digi 16 Voltage Regulator

Brian, There are several other components. Send me an email derrin (a) brewershardware com and I'll get you the difference in BOMS and component locations. Derrin Hi, I have a couple Digi 16's laying around, I would like to add the voltage regulator(s) so I can use more than one on my system. I fail...

Re: Solid State Relays

They were available through eBay for quite a while, although I don't see any auctions for the same ones. I'm looking for a supplier for relays and other items to add them to Brewers Hardware. My main concern is a quality and consistent part. Look for the auctions that picture them in the little card...

Re: DIN overriding Temperature

Assuming this is for safety, personally I'd wire the SSR controlling the element through the float switch and make it a hard-wired option. That way you don't need to worry about an error in the logic or computer failure, if there is no liquid in the tube it simply can't fire regardless of the output...

Re: Max source power for BCS462

This answer is from Adam: Each output can source 20ma, for a total of 360 (bcs462) or 120ma (bcs460). Since DINs are inputs, they don’t need to be counted. But the +5vdc pin definitely does. I see on the wiki that 5vdc is spec’ed as upto 300ma. This would add up to 420ma/660ma. But this looks like a...

Re: RIM's element burning

This is pretty strange. The only time I've had customers report back scorching is if the element contacts the tube, seems to create a hot spot, and a partially flooded tube. A customer was describing what you are; scorching in almost every circumstance. In his configuration, he had the tube horizont...

Re: Cant login into BCS after update

I ran this by Adam and he said, "The user name and password are not saved in the config file. A few reasons for this, the file is plain text, and some users like to share configs. However the authentication enable setting is saved. So uploading a config with auth enabled on a clean bcs should b...

Re: Extention boards

Hi Joe,

Working as fast as we can to get the inventory built back up. The expansion boards just went into production and they should be available in 3 weeks.

Re: Flow sensor for RIMS tube safety

One thing I strongly advise with the Brewers Hardware RIMS tube is to keep the main temp control sensor for the element control in the RIMS tube and not in the mash or effluent. That way if there is a flow blockage or pump failure, the temp in the tube will rise rapidly and kill the power to the ele...

This is a higher priority and we're looking into what it will take and if it's possible onthe current platform.

Thanks for the input!
