Anybody use Avast?
I use Avast Free virus protection. I have noticed that my wireless connection to my BCS seems to have slow response. I also noticed that whenever I have my BCS page open in Firefox that the Avast "Ball" is always spinning. That is an indication that Avast is scanning and never stops while ...

Re: Username and Password?
OK, Now that I have changed my password and set a password for Observer. I am unable to get into my User account to make changes to the BCS. It appears that my web interface defaults to Observer. How do I get to the BCS User (ADMIN) account? This is way too difficult. Very frustrated over such a sim...

Username and Password?
When Authentication is enabled, what is the Username? I found on the Wiki that the Default Password is "control", but no mention of Username. When Authentication is enabled I am prompted for a Username and Password. Is username for Admin the same username as for Observer?

Re: Remote Access
OK I think I have my Remote Access set up and working. Now I'm wondering what to expect? When someone remotes into the BCS will there be a login page? Or will the BCS Main Page open? Will they be able to make changes? Does this leave a huge hole in my LAN?

Re: Remote Access
Thanks Joe, I thought maybe I'd have to forward a port different than the WHS port. I would not have know about adding the port number to the IP though. Now I wish I had enabled Remote Administration to my router. It will have to wait until I get home to change, then wait until I get remote again to...

Re: Remote Access
I am also having trouble with remote connection. I have basically the same setup as the OP. With my BCS connected to a DD-WRT Wireless Bridge. Connecting to my home LAN. Works fine on the LAN. I ran "What's my IP" and found my IP. Made sure I forwarded the Static IP of the BCS on the prima...

Re: BCS Power Supply?
I don't like to cut into things. Although that would work, if sometime you wanted the Wall Wort you would have to splice into the cord. I happen to have a box full of old wall worts from various stuff that has been outdated. I would find a plug that fit the BCS and use that. Being carefull of the co...

Re: BCS Power Supply?
You may want to look at this,
http://forum.embeddedcontrolconcepts.co ... ?f=4&t=267
Although this solution will require a 24v source. If you already have that source for valves it may be a viable solution.
