Re: SSR operation seems backwards...

Ahaha - I'm a self proclaimed idiot... When I was making notes for the wiring I've messed up the DIN and OUT so I was in effect creating a loop by using the 5V+ connector as + and the OUT as the - on the control side... all fixed now, let the trial run of my RIMS tube begin tomorrow =)

SSR operation seems backwards...

Sorry if this has come up before but I've just wired up two SSR (Mager) and they seem to be operating in revers. I.e As soon as I turn the BSC on the SSRs switch to open the circuit and in manual mode when I go to turn the outputs on they turn off... Am I missing somethig here? For the wiring I have...

Re: Electric Heating Question

I'm all electric but being on the other side of the world I am working to 240v with a 2400 watt element - and that brings the boil (from about 60 deg celcius) up in about 40 minutes and holds a rolling boil with about 12% per hour evaporation rate at 25 deg c ambient. Hope that helps a little.

Re: Relays on EBAY

Well it only took 7 days all up to go from hitting the "Buy" button on eBay to having them delivered to Australia. I've tested each of them and they work perfefctly. Funny thing is these shipped the same day as something I am getting from USA and these arrived 3 days sooner =)

Re: Relays on EBAY

I've just ordered five (2 with heat sink and 3 without) to see how they go. Got shipping notification about 12 hours after payment which is pretty prompt. Was a little dubious about buying from a Chinese eBay store but considering total cost for five is about 20% more than I would pay for 1 here in ...

Re: Looking for Aussie BCS users

I know what you mean. I was dead set on HERMS till discussing a few things with my Dad who is a food processing equipment engineer and after some number crunching (fluid dynamics, thermal efficiency and transfer and lots of stuff that was way over my head) opted on the RIMS path. We designed in 3D C...

Re: Looking for Aussie BCS users

I'm in Brisbane. Ordered and received my BCS last month but still in the planning phase. I've also ordered one of the RIMS tubes from Brewers hardware so once that arrives I should be up and running. Perhaps towards the end of September I should be able to share some info and give you visitor access...

Re: Reverse compression fittings on temp probes

Oh and I meant to say - would they still be water proof in revers? Or is the external seal designed for just that?

Reverse compression fittings on temp probes

Hi Guys,

This probably sounds a little odd - but is it possible to reverse the compression fittings on the temp probes?
