Re: 192.***.*.5 Backup and Restore IP Address

Hi JayW, good to hear! Can you confirm that it was just the backup/restore utility that required Firefox and not for normal operation of the BCS?

Re: 192.***.*.5 Backup and Restore IP Address

I saw an issue recently with someone else that had problems connecting with Chrome, but Firefox worked. Might be a compatibility issue with Chrome popping up. Can you try using FF?

Re: 192.***.*.5 Backup and Restore IP Address

Your IP address may have changed due to your router giving out DHCP addresses. Unless you configure a static address, it is always subject to change.
I would try accessing it via the web interface first and once you find that address, use that in the backup/restore utility.

Re: BCS-482 - Cannot Connect to Utilities for Backup, etc

From the PC where the utilities don't work, can you access the BCS normally at it's IP address?

How about writing a script using the API?

Re: Powering bcs-482

It is a shared ground. Having them separate would serve no purpose. If you are running DC relays or LCD displays with another power supply, make sure you tie that PS ground to the BCS ground as well. All grounds in your DC power should be common.

Re: Issues with re-starting BCS, unexpected reset, lost o network

Networking issues are always a tough one to figure out. Since it's working when plugged into the router, I'm guessing you have a DHCP issue going on. Again, tough to figure out without knowing how each of the components is configured and which is handing out DHCP addresses.

Re: BCS-460 - Power-Up Display Issue

Check the data lines from the BCS to the displays. The displays have their own firmware running on them, so you will see them power up and go through that whether they are connected to the BCS or not. Also make sure you have a common ground from the BCS ground to the LCD power supply ground.

Re: Trying to connect to BC462

You need to backup your processes first, then do the update, then you can restore/migrate using the 4.x utilities.

Latest firmware: https://forum.embeddedcc.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3078
4.x Utilities: http://embeddedcc.github.io/bcs-backup/
