Since the I2C is a Pin Connector, does it provide the 12 vdc + and - ?
Yes. You can use the 5 pin jumpers to attach LED displays and power them through the jumper. Much easier connectivity for external external expansion.

For the new end caps, I'll see if I can get an ETA on those.

Re: help with fermentor setup

Start with the help file to learn some basics, then look at the examples.

Re: help with fermentor setup

You need to setup at least one process to do temperature control.

No, the base unit works with the existing thermistor style temp probes.

Re: Bcs 462 fermentation control with glycol chiller

I use the valves from Valves4Projects on Ebay. Good solid valves, reasonable pricing and great customer service.

The valves come in different wiring configurations and which one you buy really depends on how you want to wire them up.

Re: BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)

OK. So if I get one of the expansion boards, You would take the faceplate off the usb/RS485 side and slide in the board? The way I read it is that the enclosure will house the two exp boards in the same foot print. I also noted that there are now LEDs when an Out is asserted. I assume the same on D...

Re: Bcs 462 fermentation control with glycol chiller

I personally prefer ball valves over solenoid valves as I feel they last longer (no diaphram) and work better at cold temperatures. I have a dual fermenter setup using them. Running at the different temps is easy. You just need your glycol bath set lower than what your coldest vessel needs. You buil...

Re: BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)

Wiring: Do we need the ac ground connected to the BCS 482 GND. Will it hurt if we do? Yes, it is still good practice to ground the DC circuit. The reason being is that it creates a ground reference, which can be beneficial in components that do measuring, e.g. temp probes. Feel free to run without ...

Is this release compatible with BCS-462?
The firmware filename of bcs460.bin has always been compatible with both the BCS-460 and BCS-462.

The new BCS-482 also has v4.1.2, but in a different package & filename and updates to the 482 will be via USB.
