Re: SSR Not Closing

What are the ratings on the power supplies? The input needs to be 5.9-6 volts for the BCS to have a near 5V output.

Re: Exit Condition using Register?

As a workaround, I have shifted the first wort hop addition over to the sparge/collect process rather than including it in the timed hop schedule for boil and whirlpool steps. When I manually advance into the Boil step that also initiates the Hop Schedule process. Both use timers which are maintain...

Re: Barbeque Temp Probes.

Great minds think alike! I have a Bradley smoker that I use my BCS with. The original controller in the smoker fried so I added a couple of SSR's inside the box and put an RJ45 jack on the back and just run a CAT5 cable outside to it when I smoke. I have so much more control over it than when it was...

Re: Barbeque Temp Probes.

They look like they should. I may get one and try it out myself with my smoker.

Re: Barbeque Temp Probes.

The BCS uses "thermistor" type temperature probes. The one you linked is a "thermocouple" type. They are incompatible.

Re: Ubidots

The BCS has a very detailed API that would allow you to get any of the data from it and log it.

You can see the API here: http://embeddedcc.github.io/api-docs/

How you go about integrating to Ubidots or other 3rd party apps is up to you.

Re: SSR Not Closing

What are you sending to Curtis? The BCS or the power supply? If it's the power supply, those are throw away and replace.

Re: SSR Not Closing

Try triggering the SSR with just the 5V BCS output (not an OUT port). Also, what reading does a DMM give you on the 5V output? Run the tests a second time with the input/output terminals blocks disconnected (to rule out other devices pulling too much current).
