Re: failure design
Not sure if this exactly applies to your question, because I think you might be referring to using input from the float switch into the BCS. I wired my float switch so that when the water in the hlt drops below a certain level, it breaks the circuit for the low voltage control on my SSR. This way I'...

Re: BCS Recipe Utility not connecting any more
Yes, I can connect to the BCS and perform all the functions as normal. No, none of the utilities work, they all give me a red check mark after putting in the address of the BCS. If I open the DevTools screen in Chrome, I see the following message in the console: XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://192...

BCS Recipe Utility not connecting any more - Resolved
I have used this in the past, but I cannot seem to get connected to my BCS now. The Checkmark will not turn green, it stays red. My BCS has not changed IP address, nor is authentication required. I'm using Chrome, and I've tried it on two different computers. Any suggestions? I really liked using th...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 3
Went through the update process to public beta 3. Had a few minutes where I thought I might have bricked the BCS; it seemed to have a problem with the TFTP process, then I could not see it on the network. Long story short, I had to make some DHCP changes on a wireless repeater to allow the BCS to ge...

Re: Firmware v3.3 released
Pro Tip for everyone. Before you update your firmware, you may want to backup your processes and settings. I was so excited about the new features I forgot to backup my thermistor coefficients and some other settings.

Re: Relays on EBAY
I purchased similar relays with heatsink from seller yvonnewindy. It took about 3 weeks for product to arrive at my door, and that was in line with the description on the site.
The relays are working fine, I purchased six of them.

Re: Electric Heating Question
@JonW I do not have a complete data log from that brew session, my log starts out with HLT at 126. My manual notes indicate I used 11 gallons of tap water and it took 42 minutes to get to strike temp. I think my tap water is about 60f right now. 42 minutes was in line with the time when I was using ...

Re: Electric Heating Question
While I think you could do it with 120V, you are limited to 1650Watts for a 15 amp circuit, or 2000Watts for a 20 amp circuit. You would have long ramp up times to get to strike temp or from mash to boil. When I was researching this, I found a table that showed times to heat the HLT from 70 to 160f....

Re: Brewbuddy for ipad
So, does v2.1 work with the iPad? I have an iPad, but the App Store on the iPad does not show BrewBuddy. I think I can manually load it from iTunes.
