Re: 4-wire temp probe (or other long-cable solutiion)
Doh! Dumb post. I ceded my brew room to a wayward teen for nearly a year, so been out of it for a while. I somehow got it in my head that the BCS used RTD-type temp probes, but indeed it uses thermistors - less accurate than RTD, but allegedly more tolerant of longer cable runs. I'll run my long cab...

4-wire temp probe (or other long-cable solutiion)
I want ~40' leads to temp probe. The "4-wire" method of wiring RTD sensors accomplishes this, w/no loss of accuracy.
Can I use this method with the BCS?
Are there better/faster/stronger solutions?
danke

Re: Brew day: Process/state mods per recipe
thanks much for the input guys. I just did a couple things to help me learn/understand: - went through my config and created a spreadsheet to get perspective. - looked at the CSV format of the process config files. Considering figuring out where the key values in the file are. After that time invest...

Brew day: Process/state mods per recipe
I just beta tested my first complete brew-day process/state setup and it seems to work well. However, I set generic settings for mash heats and times, hop addition timers, etc for my "theoretical recipe". It seems like it will be tedious/time-robbing to have to seek/replace all these setti...

Demo BCS / boil & hop tracking
In my BCS studies, I have a section I titled "JonW's advice" that I've culled from the board...Thanks! In one post I saw that you (JonW) had 5 processes. One was "boil" and one was "track hop additions". In the current config of the demo BCS, it has a single "boil&...

web buttons w/ladder logic?
Hi all, I have "phase 1integration" of my motorized valves to the BCS, via OUT4 line and a relay board in my control panel. For now, I'm just using two web buttons "valve off" and "valve on". I suspect my noob solution, tho functional, is crude/overkill. I created proce...

Re: bubbler for level sense?
Hey man, Thanks for letting us check out your system last week. My friend bill made an arduino-based bubbler/level meter that we used on several brew sessions. It seemed to work fairly well. It is currently out of operation while we convert it from breadboard to PCB, and try to fit the whole think i...
