Re: wireless bcs
I know this is an old thread, but just an update re wireless options. Long story, but I recently rebuilt my brew stand and wanted to be able to connect wirelessly to my BCS (previously I had it directly connected to a network switch). I just bought a Vonets VAP11N-300 mini-bridge and it's working we...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 1
Strange, I do nearly all my development in Chrome, so all the utilities have been tested using Chrome. It does detect whether you are running a 460 or 462 and whether the config is for a 460/462. If you try to restore a 462 config to a 460 it will warn you and you will see some failures. It's nothi...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 1
1. What does the "config migrator" do? 2. Do you just run it and it upgrades the firmware itself? 3. If it does not do the Firmware Update, what order do you upgrade? 4. If you run it and want to revert to 3.7.1, can you do that? 1. Back up your 3.x config then do the firmware upgrade usi...

HMI Related Issue in Chrome
I figured I toss this out there just in case anyone else experiences something similar. I set up my HMI and it was working great for months, then one day I noticed my indicator lights weren't working when viewing the interface in my Google Chrome browser. I checked it in Firefox and IE and they work...

Re: Firmware v3.4 released
I didn't see this mentioned on the HMI Wiki page, but just an FYI, the URL for your custom background image needs to be 64 characters or less. I created a test one and hosted it on photobucket and it worked great (exactly 64 characters). I then did some tweaking and uploaded a new background but it ...

Re: E-stop!
I bought a red mushroom switch on e-bay for $4.99 It can handle 20 amps. You can wire it normally closed or normally open. When you press it, it locks in position. To release it you have to twist. I'm going to get another and use this as an emergency stop on the heating elements. Linc Hi Linc, can ...

Re: Wireless Access?
nice p-lay, i didn't know you could do that. i've never tried tomato but i heard it and ddwrt have similar features so you're probably right. ronrock, regarding the default gateway, anyone please correct me if i'm wrong but i believe you'd want to have the default gateway on the bcs-460 set to the A...

Re: Wireless Access?
hi ronrock, not sure if you still need help with this, but here's what you can do to give you AP a static IP address. i use ddwrt v 23 sp2 firmware on a couple of WRT54GL routers. one is set up as an actual router and the other is set up as an AP. assuming you have a seperate router that you're usin...

Re: Brew Session Documented
Just an update on the toasted coconut porter that I used in my brew session. I kegged it a little over a week ago. It's pretty good stuff definitely a keeper. It's very rich and flavorful...in my opinion not a session beer...more of a dessert beer. I've never tried it but I've heard of people making...
