Re: BCS 4.0 - Anyone using PID with electric elements?

For me the PID settings I used are the same as what I had in the 3.7.1 FW. With my settings the heating element will be on until after I reach the setpoint due to integral windup. This will cause my temp to overshoot a degree or 2, but thats fine for me. For the most part I got the same behavior in ...

recipe utility doesn't update all instances of a variable

I have not had luck with the recipe utility. If I have 4 different instances of "strike temp" for setpoints and exit conditions it only seems to update the first one and leaves the other 3 at the previous value. Not sure if this has anything to do with the browser I am using but I use chro...

Re: Public Beta 4.0 Beta 2 Issues

When I first built my panel I noticed that when I would move some switches on the front panel that were located near the displays that it would sometimes cause them the reboot(the I2C address would pop up like it does when I first power on the panel). I separated the low and high voltage wires and h...

Re: Public Beta 4.0 Beta 2 Issues

While brewing yesterday with this FW I had 2 times where my I2C 7-segmet displays stopped updating. They were stuck until the BCS switched to the next step. While the temps were stuck on the I2C displays they were still updating on the web interface. Both times this happened it was when I had 2 proc...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 2

It appears that you cannot set the integral or derivative PID settings to 0 anymore. I only use PI and set D to 0. I am able to set it to 0.1, so I will give that a try on a test run tomorrow.

Re: DIGI 16 - EOL or OoS?

I only use the BCS for brew day control. Everything marches ahead in sequential order so there is only ever one process active at a time. Therefore there is only one output active at a time. If each state would set the 6 outputs to a unique value communicating what single current state is active.

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 2

Does fix #169 mean that the duty cycle works now? In beta1 I observed that the output would be on 100% of the time no matter what I set the duty cycle to. Its not clear from the comment in the OP whether it will actually cycle the output at the desired duty cycle or not.

Re: i2c or USB relay board

With the Digi16 EOL, we need a replacement, whether it has relays on it or just LVCMOS or TTL outputs that can drive a relay board. Its disappointing to see features being dropped in the 4.0 firmware as well as seeing support for the expansion card being dropped. Things are moving backwards here, no...
