Re: Howto: Update the Firmware of a BCS-460

Quickie question. Can I go from my current 4.0.0 build c5bda61firmware directly to the latest 4.1.3 or do I need to go stepwise? I understand the latest version is for the newer 480 series BCS, and I have both a 460 and a 462, so wondering which is the most current firmware for those models? Will I ...

Re: Howto: Update the Firmware of a BCS-460

This still the official walkthrough for F/W updating? Been on a brewing haitus for several years. Tried to get back into it in 2016 but some parts in my ePanel broke. Got it all repaired and ready to rock and roll, but ran out of time this weekend. Wanted to see about the latest Firmware for the 462...

Re: Thermocouple for Coffee Roaster?

Be better luck looking to Artisan software. Lots of folks use all sorts of DIY hardware to control their roasts with Phidgets and other stuff I don't understand because I don't have any of that stuff. I use the Aillio Bullet Roaster

Re: Wiring Float Switch to HLT

I do and I also have a panel from EBS I believe. I have 2 float switches, lower and upper. Lower is a dumb switch wired in series to interrupt the activation of the SSR for the HLT element to prevent a dry fire. Upper is a "smart" input that I use to fill the HLT in conjunction with a NC electricall...

Need help designing a Process

Hi, I have a process I made that lets me fill and heat my HLT. Its not exactly working correctly however. There is an electric valve that opens and begins filling the HLT when I start the process. I want to have the valve turn off when the high level float switch is actuated, which is set as DIN 0 I...

Re: Blichmann Low Level Float Switch

Well, Tonight the package from McMaster came, with two polypropylene food safe floats. These were a tight fit to squeeze through the TC adapter, but I got it done, and installed, and dry tested with an Ohm meter and they appear to be functioning properly. Need to test the seal. Had to tighten ALL th...

Re: Blichmann Low Level Float Switch

Thank you. I asked the third option linked site for a quote just in case. I'll bet you are right on price... I have a couple smaller plastic floats arriving tonight that I will try out in my adapters. Another option I thought of was to buy a larger TC adapter than 1/2 FPT and use a bushing, which wi...

Controlling the boil....

Hello, Brewed my first beer on my electric brew system this past Sunday. I wanted to keep it simple for the first brew since I knew I would be learning a lot about using my new setup. I decided to buy a pre-fab panel rather than try to build my own with high voltage in the mix. I have a 5000 watt el...

Re: Blichmann Low Level Float Switch

Does anybody know of a tri clover 1.5" compatible float switch for the side wall of kettle? Switches I got are MPT with wires on the outside, apparently intended for use with a coupler or nipple, and will not fit through a triclover FPT adapter because float is too large. Tried removing the float bu...
