Re: integration with other brewing software/devices

I don't really know what an API is. That brewfather said it can work with beerxml format. Not sure if that is really the same thing here. Saw a portion of a podcast type video by an obviously more technologically advanced person than I am talking about all sorts of programming stuff that I didn't fu...

integration with other brewing software/devices

Howdy, I recently have been getting back into the homebrewing hobby after taking a break for several years. I noticed my previously favorite software Beersmith 2.0 has been updated to 3.0. Many shortcomings still exist. I don't think the upgrade is worthwhile to me. I began looking into alternatives...

Power cycling

I can't seem to find the settings for what happens to the BCS 460 after a momentary power outage, how it will behave when power is restored.
I think I've looked everywhere, but I'm sure its got to be in there somewhere.

Re: Float Switch Controlling Output

One idea. I have float valves on my HLT/HERMS 3v/2e system. There is a low and high float valve on my HLT. The low valve is wired to the SSR I believe within control panel and when float is down, the INPUT to the SSR is disabled. This kills output to the heat element without the need for the BCS to ...

Re: Voltage issues

Well this is an update. What a colossal pain in the A@! this has been. First I replaced the suspected faulty PSU - NOPE its probably FINE! Second I replaced the wiring harness. NOPE! Third I replaced the panel/enclosure connections with high quality XLR fittings. TOTAL PITA! - NOPE! Also had to Re w...

Re: Voltage issues

Thanks. I found a DIN rail mounting adapter on amazon for mounting small circuit boards to DIN rails which should work. Originally bought that relay board for a Arduino project that I never finished. I can't imagine what else it could be, especially since it had been working fine. If not that, the o...

Voltage issues

Howdy Been on a homebrewing hiatus since about 2014/early 2015. Getting back in has been painful. First batch the temp controller I hadn't inspected and was bad. Operated on a DIY glycol system centered around an BCS 460 I got it partially working, but then it pooped out. Had to replace AC unit. Had...

Re: Howto: Update the Firmware of a BCS-460

Quickie question. Can I go from my current 4.0.0 build c5bda61firmware directly to the latest 4.1.3 or do I need to go stepwise? I understand the latest version is for the newer 480 series BCS, and I have both a 460 and a 462, so wondering which is the most current firmware for those models? Will I ...
