Re: BCS 4.1.1 Firmware Released

Can anyone give me their recommendations for tftp server software? I’ve been trying to upgrade using the free Solarwinds software but getting knowhere fast, the bcs just freezes and need a restart when trying to upgrade.

Re: Driving More than one SSR

I Looked at the loading curve for the SSRs I use and sure enough its about 13ma at 5V. In the end I got a small Schneider electric SSR controlled by the BCS to feed 12v to the control side of the two power SSRs. Haven't tried it yet but it should work :P

Re: Driving More than one SSR

Cheers Oakbarn! I was thinking that might be a better way to do it. I have one of those relay boards in my panel at the moment from Audiowind on eBay, that I use to control pumps and valves, I see they do a low load SSR board too which I might give a shot.

Re: Driving More than one SSR

Cheers, it does say <13mA on the spec sheet, so it may be down sub 10mA. I'll get a multimeter out and measure the current through one to make sure, that's the way to be certain I guess.

I take it overloading the output will damage it?

Driving More than one SSR

Is it possible to drive more than one SSR from a single output by wiring them in series or parallel? If so what is the maximum current load on a single Dout? The spec sheet for the SSRs I use state the control side current draw is <13ma, I don't think I will be going to drive more than two from one ...

Re: Frozen BCS 462

Yeah, that's what I was getting at, I know its more likely something external that caused it, I wondered if there were any well known suspects. No electrical igniters in my system its all electric. I tried to keep the 220v wiring separate from the 5v control signals and away from the BCS and was pre...

Frozen BCS 462

Any idea why a BCS462 might stop working/responding with outputs on? It was supposed to be holding temperature via PID at 66c but it stopped responding and I couldn't connect to it with a browser. Examining the vessel the element output and pump output are still going and the liquor is boiling furio...

Re: Getting rid of the Wall Wort Power Supply

I soldered the correct power tip onto the output of one of these...

It powers my BCS462 just fine. You'll need 12v to supply the buck transformer however.

Re: wireless bcs

I used one of these in my panel;

Cheap and cheerful, I like the look those TP-Link ones though.

Re: Building a 220v System

It works just fine on 220v I'm here in Scotland in the UK and built a control panel that is based around a BCS 462 that runs off a 220V 32A supply. I've used it about a dozen times now and it works extremely well. To power the BCS itself all you need is a 6v power supply that can cope with a 1a curr...
