Re: Volume Sensors?

One thing I briefly looked at for Volume control was non contact position switches- they use either capacitance or ultra sound waves and are accurate to about 2mm, which would be easily within our parameters for water measurement. This would trigger an on/off signal which could be used to close / op...

Re: Best idea for HLT control

I have a Honeywell valve , good for Nat Gas as well as propane. Still not under control as other priorities for now including my hops farm, but have programmed the BCS dry to be able to do what I need it to..and the program seems to work so far....by switching LEDS markers on cue.... .. prefill HLT ...

Re: water fill valve

What's it made of? If you know the manufacturer, I'm sure that you could send them an email to find out quickly. Here's another great source for cheap valves: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/valves4projects__W0QQ_armrsZ1 I have two of those and while not yet part of the brew stand / brewery have tested...

Re: Heat Exchanger Temperature Probe Placement

I guess I ought to hang a bit more here. With the Brewboard down I am lost.... While I use RIMS with a direct heat chamber, I monitor both the output of the heater as well as output of the Mash tun. Mashtun flows directly to heater and return goes back into top manifold of Mash Tun via pump (about 6...

Re: Here is my PID (work in progress)

I am the same as you guys, know the concept , but little else. I did find that my system worked very well from the beginning with almost no overshoot (1.3 deg F). I have not plotted them though - just visual observation. This was the single AHA moment for me, as the cheap PID I used to use always ov...

Re: 3 Way Solenoid Valves

I would be interested in cheaper valves, I have big ideas as well , but need the fiscal motivation now.

Lots of interesting pics there Zulu. Are those bed frames you used for your sculpture?
Nope , new angle iron cut to order. Footprint is 18x36 with a small added overhang for the Mashtun

Re: Wireless?

While not the same as your issue - During beta I had a lot of issues with wireless adapter interfering with the ethernet port on my laptop. Many many times I could not see the BCS when first logging in. Now I just switch off the wireless until I get connected and then re-establish the wireless links...
