Re: BCS control from an iPad

Amen brother, i wrote that version and man the design department was simply not present at the time. I am considering a revisitation to it. I haven't upgraded my bcs in ages so are the features that are blatantly missing from the app that are needed? I would welcome constructive feedback on what nee...

Re: BCSfinder Utility

if it's an exe, you'll need some sort of windows vm if you are on a mac. really this is a windows only tool in all fairness from what tiny bit of information I have looked at so far...

I feel your pain, we have no windows machines remaining in my home anymore...

Re: Brewbuddy

It doesn't currently support them, i am going to have torque the UI around a bit to make it do that. I will do so, the release was too fix an incompatibility running the new firmware with the basic 4 probe configuration.

Re: Brewbuddy

I just uploaded an updated version of the application to the apple store, start the clocks. Apple has been much faster these days, so I am optimistic about how quickly the update will be available. Please let me know if you see any issues, my testing was tricky given I don't have a home network righ...

Re: Brewbuddy

I have seen apps behave strangely before, so there's a good chance that there's nothing wrong Sadly this is not the case. I have gone through the app tonight and can confirm the errors and conditions. I have modified all the health checks for the applications checks of the data requests to be based...

Re: Brewbuddy

I haven't seen that behavior yet, i talked to ecc about some issues in the existing open interface which is why there is a 3.1. I will take a look tonight. I should only need to update it to support the additional outputs, the existing functionality "should" still work....

Re: can I use CAT5 for temp probes and out's

I have done this with immunity in the past. You can find the information about how much additional resistance the wire adds to the circuit, but when you look at the tables and realize that the thermoresistors are 10,000 ohms, you rapidly realize you can wire to your hearts content. The wiki isn't su...

Re: Thermowell question

I had that problem controlling a fridge, it was resolved by using a shielded cable from radio shack. My runs were at least 40 feet, I only had to shield the section that went near the compressor of the fridge. Due to my situation the majority of the run was cat-5, going past the fridge was the shiel...
