My system so far
I'll have to take more pictures, you can't see the pumps or heat exchangers. Both kegs are bottom drain instead of out the sides. No more worries about pump priming. http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n553/lspangler1974/system.jpg I have a float switch in the mash that controls the sparge pump. The...

not sure if the link will work. looking closer i don't think this is rated for more than 10 amps either. i've been using it and it doesn't get warm at all. weird. It is a very beefy switch.

Re: E-stop!
I bought a red mushroom switch on e-bay for $4.99 It can handle 20 amps. You can wire it normally closed or normally open. When you press it, it locks in position. To release it you have to twist. I'm going to get another and use this as an emergency stop on the heating elements.

Re: E-stop!
One thing to keep in mind is that when an SSR fails, it fails in the on state. In my case I was using 25 Amp SSR's to power 1500 Watt elements. My pump lost prime and the element burnt out, this caused the SSR to fail but I didn't realize it. I swapped out the element and before I could get the pump...

I'm in Farmington Hills, Mi and I'm having trouble getting my BCS to work on my wireless network.
Is there anybody local to me that might be able to come by and help? I have a netgear wireless router and a DLINK 2100 wirless Access Point for the BCS

How do you change the name at the top of the main screen to the name of your brewery? I've poked around some and can't seem to find it.

Re: Rims Tube - Temperature Swing
I've been using an electric rims tube for a few years now. I initially placed my control sensor at the exit of the mash. In this setting, the system calls for heat and begins to heat the return wort. It keeps heating until the exiting wort is at the set temp. Then your eyes bulge in horror as you wa...

Re: Heat Exchanger Temperature Probe Placement
Yes, THE BCS controls system temp using the temp probe that is 3 inches from the output of heating element. Using this set-up I get incredible consistency and accuracy during the mash. Some day when I have extra time, I'll have to put a third probe on the outlet of my mash and use the graphing featu...
