Re: BCS for electronic dummies?
It can be overwhelming to the non techie/engineer/electrical type. The basic BCS programming for what you want to do is simple. The actual wiring of the device into an appropriate box with the SSR and pump is complex if you don't understand electric, but rather simple if you do. If you do this you s...

Re: Toggle Switch Wiring Question
Took advantage of a nice sunny day yesterday to rewire my panel (3rd time's the charm?) and set the switches up for 5v operation. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't working until I realized I forgot to connect the hot side of the SSR's to the pumps/rims heat -duh! Anyway all works, I feel a bit safer...

Re: Rims Tube - Temperature Swing
I've got a temp probe @ Rims tube exit and one in the mash. The Rims tube probe controls the heat and I usually set my temps 1 degree higher than I want the mash to be at. That is the one part of my system that seems to be finally settled.

Re: Cryodem D2425's and wiring
Been discussed before on this forum. SSR's will leak voltage without a proper load. Use a test appliance like a fan or lamp.

That is one neat clean looking build. I especially like the graphic showing the flow. I need to upgrade mine to copy your design.

Re: Toggle Switch Wiring Question
You could grab any DC wall wort you have laying around and attach it to the 5V and Ground leads and you'd be in business to control everything manually. If you're already wiring switches how I put on the diagram, then you've already tied all the 5V (manual input side) and ground leads together. Bec...

Re: Toggle Switch Wiring Question
That low voltage solution does look to be a safer way to go. I'm no electrician, so take this FWIW - if the BCS craps out for some reason, will you still be able to run anything? Wouldn't you potentially be stuck without pumps, etc.??

Re: Force Run at Powerup needs new processes added
Bought the fabric and some nylon thread. Begged the wife to sew it up. She taught me how to do it but I am pretty bad at it.

Re: Force Run at Powerup needs new processes added
I dream of CIP. I'd be able to brew more because my back would like it. My initial testing of lining my MLT with a Brew In A Bag Voile bag is that it makes MLT cleaning much easier. It also does a great job of clearing the wort faster. Only issue comes in with a large grain load. You still have to s...
