circuit protection

What do you do to protect various components on your control system? Where are the smart places to add protection? I have read stuff about using fuses here or there, using a relay vs SSR vs contactor depending on what one is controlling, builtin GFI, opto-isolators or diodes, ground this but not tha...

Re: My version of the HMI builder

A widget shaped like an element is easy, but to make it represent a on or off element without it just being an element that changes from red to green is more challenging. I would avoid flipping between red and green only. For me and many who have trouble seeing color this can be a change from grey ...

Re: wireless bcs

So far the Vonets mini300 is working fine. It was a pain to configure, to connect to it, really. One review comment said that it would forget it's configuration when powered off. I hope it's not too bad at that.

Re: wireless bcs

I used one of these in my panel; https://www.amazon.com/Vonets-300Mbps-Wireless-N-802-11N-Repeater/dp/B00L7PXY3W/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1487089129&sr=1-6&keywords=vonets Cheap and cheerful, I like the look those TP-Link ones though. I see Vonets makes a cute pocket one too, but...

Re: wireless bcs

It's not on the supported list. Newer versions are. I may flash it anyway. It's as useful as a brick already.

Re: Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462 ri

Do you have wiring diagrams you can share? I think I am getting most of it from the photos, but if you already have them or shared them somewhere I would like to see how you wired it all together. I am trying to work out how to organize terminal blocks etc for my little fermenter system.

Re: wireless bcs

My old netgear is too stupid to do bridging or client mode. The N150 is out of stock, but it looks like the N300 is similar https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TQ ... PDKIKX0DER

wireless bcs

What are you doing for a wireless bcs? Until I can wire my garage my bcs will only be available when I direct connect. This looks promising: https://wiki.debian.org/BridgeNetworkConnectionsProxyArp Using a router to setup a wifi network just for the bcs would seem to work, but that wifi would be iso...
