Re: New Control Panel Setup (Help with SSR's)
+1 I consider it a must have for my pumps when setting up or cleaning. I originally only had a normal switch to force ON a circuit, i now have three way switches as well. Force Off, Force On, and SSR Controlled. I also feel it is a must...You can force things off without going to the bcs if you need...

Re: SSR's necessary for fermentation chambers?
Yes, you will need one ssr for each, so each can control a separate powered circuit for either heating or cooling.

Re: UP and almost running
if the manual control works, then the ssr's are wired correctly. So if you can run them from the interface manually, then you have em wired up right.

Re: iBCS
I hear ya, i am working on my second generation bcs box(which is as much a labor of love as it is functional) I spent 2 hours jamming to music and wiring stuff last night, totally enjoyable, but completely incomprehensible to non-bcs type personalities. :)

Re: Double batch brewday (with data!)
I blame my recent stuck mash on starting the pumps up to fast. The last two brews were pure infusion, no recirc in response to the pain, but I think starting really slow to keep the mash floating is important as well. I got my temps dead on to start and let em sit. Old skool style. :) when I go back...
Re: iBCS
yeah, my preference is for #1 as well.
Re: iBCS
What would you like to know? The brew buddy is providing a window into a subset of the bcs information and controls. Showing temps, timers, active processes and allows you to turn on uncontrolled outputs if you desire. I use the control of outputs when I am priming my pumps.
