Re: I2C Wire Lenght for 7 digit display
Don't complain if your system starts acting buggy or if your expansion port (I2C driver chip) gets fried. I2C was created as a chip-to-chip communication - not an off board driver solution. I based my test on the following that I found on the internet (along with a lot of stuff about long communica...

Ground or Not
I am running shielded Cat 5e twisted pair between the BCS 462 and some of the panel mounts M12 connectors for the M12 Patch cables for all my temperature probes. Each pair is in its own shield. I have plenty of cable. The length I am running from the BCS to the M12 Panel mount is about 14 foot mount...

I2C Wire Lenght for 7 digit display
OCCS suggested 3 feet or less. As I had started to mount my BCS someplace not in 3 feet of where I wand my external display I did five test: BCS I2C PID Display Module (External 7 digit display) This test involved running a length of wire and connecting it to the I2C PigTail from OCCS. Test 1: 14 fo...

Re: Wire external 7 digit display
I found the manual on the OCCS web site and it has cleared up most of what I need so disregard as the above for the four displays is wrong. Looks like you daisy chain them. The Wiki could be a little clearer. No need for a response.

Wire external 7 digit display
I have read the Wiki and I think I understand. My question is that I want some conformation before I destroy my BCS 462 or 7 Digit display It says wire Pin 1 to Exp 1 , Pin 2 to Exp 0. Pin 3 is not used Pin 4 to 12 vdc (I would assume the + terminal) and pin 5 to GND I have attached two diagrams. On...

Out as DIN
Since the Output of a Out is 5 vdc, can you use it to asset a DIN?
In this example I would assert Out 5 which would assert Din 3.
BTW, not sure how I would use this but still trying to learn what the BCS will do.
