Re: BCS Recipe Utility not connecting any more - Resolved

That's interesting. Yes, the BCS utilities use CORS. I'm not sure why you would need a chrome extension to make that work, but I'm glad you're back up and running!

Re: Also Having Trouble Connecting

You've got a lot of variables involved when you add in the wireless connection. I use a TP Link Nano Router for wireless connection while I'm brewing but I don't run it all the time. If possible, I would try keeping the BCS on a wired connection for a while to see if you experience the same issue. I...

Re: BCS Recipe Utility not connecting any more

Can you connect to the BCS itself from the same browser that you're using for the recipe utility?

Do any of the other utilities work? Try making a backup.

Re: Is my trusted BCS-460 realy dead?

My concern based on your first post would be that pushing hard on the network cable enough times weakened the connection between the lan port and the board, and the network connection is no longer working. It's hard to say for sure what the issue is, but based on your post I think you're right that ...

Re: Is my trusted BCS-460 realy dead?

First off, have you tried a new cable with a functioning clip? That's a pretty simple thing to try for around $5.

What version of the firmware are you running and how long did you hold down the reset button?

Re: Building a 220v System

I think it should work fine as long as you had an appropriate DC adapter to power the BCS itself.

The specs are:

6vdc / 1 amp / 1.3mm center positive coax

Re: MORE PROCESSES

Yes, exactly what JonW said. The recipe utility can be configured to allow you to change the temp/time very quickly. In your situation, I would probably build one process for the Three Step process, then use the recipe utility to configure it for each brew. Just set the timer for the steps you aren'...

Re: Deciding to upgrade to 4.0

It would be possible to build something like the HMI from 3.7 using the new API, however if you're asking the question it's probably not something you could do yourself. Yes, there is a migration utility that will take your 3.7 configs and apply them to the BCS running 4.0. I always recommend double...

Re: Tablet Suggestions

The difference between a tablet and an all in one touch screen PC is pretty arbitrary. I would call the 21.5" Acer Media All In One that I sometimes use for brewing a "Tablet" since it runs Android. More often than not, I do all my brewing on my iPhone. In your situation a small table...

Re: Safari Cache on IPhone

You mean updating iOS on the phone? I would guess that your cache will persist, but I can't say for sure. Try it and let us know. :D Interesting use of the recipe utility too!
