MORE PROCESSES

I love the controller and I quickly used all eight of my processes. I could use at least eight more. Here are some examples of the processed I like to have pre-written: Process 0 (SINGLE STEP LIGHT) Single step 90 minute mash @ 148 degrees, 90 minute boil Process 1 (SINGLE STEP MED) Single step 75 m...

Re: Temperature Probe failure?

I do not have patch cables. That is how I wanted to order them, but all I could find in stock were 1/2" MPT probes with 8' leads. They are hardwired at the BCS 460 controller. It looks like probes are still on back order since August of last year. I have never restored a back up file. Thank You...

Re: Temperature Probe failure?

I have tried a second temperature gauge in the MLT and it read the same as the first temperature gauge. Yes there generally is a temperature lag, between the rims and mash tun. The rims stops heating when it thinks it is holding the temperature at 152 when it is actually holding the temperature at 1...

Temperature Probe failure?

I use the BCS 460 with probes designed with the controller. All three used to work perfectly and always matched the gauges in my kettles. Recently my RIMS tube temperature probe is reporting around 10 degrees hotter than the liquid in my mash tun. I have ran over 25 batches through the system and on...

Re: Temperature Probe Accuracy

I wanted to order the ones with the M12 connectors but they were never in stock.
I am thinking of installing shielded cat 6 RJ 45 connectors on the end of the leads to make them more plug and play, for clean up instead of hard wiring to my controller.

Re: Temperature Probe Accuracy

The wiring is simple. All three drain wires are terminated at the ground buss of my panel. I did use the the white as the ground and the black wires on the Temp1- Temp-2. There are no splices these are the 8' factory two wired shielded cables. My next question: Is my controller learning? The reactio...

Re: Temperature Probe Accuracy

I have performed this test several different times with different temperatures of water. I do not think it is a calibration issue as they all find a common temperature after half an hour or so. My main concern is scorching my wort, with a rims tube as they are so slow to respond.

Re: Can PWM be used to avoid tripping circuit breakers?

A 25 amp breaker is too small for one 5,500 watt element. (5,500 / 230v = 23.9 amps) A 30 amp circuit should be the minimum to maintain a load of less than 80% of the over current protection. How hard is it for you to run a 60 amp circuit to your control panel and feed two separate 30 amp breakers i...

Re: Temperature Probe Accuracy

I am having the same problem. I purchased the BCS 460 controller and (3) 1/2" MPT 4" BCS-460/462 Temperature Sensor with 8' wire lead. The three probes will eventually sync up but it takes about an hour after starting out nearly 10 degrees apart. Is there a way to shorten the response / sa...
