Re: Is my BCS dead?
The number of moving parts is so low(0) and the energy consumed so low(1 watt) I expect a long life out of the bcs. I think the most likely demise would be the result of dropping it on a hard floor(which would probably not hurt it either) or water/heat exposure, even water exposure might be ok after...

Re: Dum dum question about controlling 220V.
P = I / V 5000 = I / 220 I = 22.73 amps To your question about ssr capacity, my understanding would be yes, there are 40 amp ssr's available out there as well as larger, while I haven't done it yet, my understanding is that you would put one on each leg(both are hot and both would be controlling 23 ...

Re: iBCS

Re: Would you like to build a Refrigerator?
That is a thing of beauty...you might be able to accomplish your wait cycle affect by using the "Output Update Period (PID Sample Period)" and setting it to 15 minutes...meaning that it would only measure once every 15 minutes, i believe the fridge if cycled on wouldn't be checked to cycle...

Re: Push Button Usage
Also if you manually turn a output on using the top interface bar, and then a process starts trying to control that output, it will go off and stay off if that's what the process wants....sometimes its good to just know it's going to be ON or OFF.

Re: Configuration Version 2 (for me)
Nothing says all the ssr's have to be in the same box, just send 5 volt line out to another 'satellite' box and put the ssr's in that box if that suits your need? That being said, i did rewire everything on my system a second time and much prefer my new box with three way switches and led voltage in...

Re: Push Button Usage
I also like the ability to guarantee that a circuit won't go on. +1 for three way switches, Force Off, BCS Controlled, Force On.
