Re: Basic wiring and power questions
My bad, sorry. I meant to say neutral links, not terminal blocks. Bit hard to tell from the picture but they look like terminal blocks which are meant to connect one single wire to another single wire. Sorry, I steered you down the wrong path on that one. If you are looking to distribute power then ...

Handy WIFI option
Hello everyone, I purchased a wifi powerline adapter the other week for my fermentation cabinet and the thing works an absolute charm so I thought I would share it with everyone. For those who don't know, a powerline adapter basically acts like an ethernet cable but runs along existing power circuit...

Re: Basic wiring and power questions
Hey el_hombre I had the exact same dilema when I was building my setup. As far as what will 'work' the best, either way is fine. The distances that these cables will be running are way to short to worry about signal loss or anything else along those lines. First thing you should check is how much cu...

Re: Flow sensor for RIMS tube safety
I can't imagine temperature being an issue with a metal casing. I sent the ebay seller a message asking them what other materials are in the switch. Do you think it is just the usual 1/2 inch thread?

Re: Flow sensor for RIMS tube safety
This is a flow switch I am looking at: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Stainless-Steel-Water-Sensor-Flow-Switch-Magnetic-/251115559661?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item3a77a75aed It's a real cheapo from EBAY so not too sure on its quality...any inputs? It should be pretty easy to use, I w...

Flow sensor for RIMS tube safety
Just wondering if anyone has any flow monitoring equipment in their breweries. Flow meters are relatively easy to come across but I am after a device that can sense low or no flow and then activate/deactivate an electrical device. In my case, I would like to monitor the flow across my RIMS tube and ...

PID control combined with SSR
This may be an obvious question but I can't seem to make sense of it. I wish to control two pumps for circulating cooling and heating fluids amongst a few fermenters that I have been building. I will be using the BCS for this purpose and I have the pumps connected via SSRs. My question is, how is it...

Fermentation pumps
Morning everyone. I am setting up a fermentation control system and as such need a couple of pumps, one for pumping glycol (around the -15C mark) and one for a warm solution, around 40C. The pumping duty will be more than a march pump (even the large one) could supply so just wondering if anyone has...

Re: External 7 segment displays
I also plan on using a few of these for my fermentation control system. Can only four still be used? Ideally I would like to be able to have 8 running....one for each of the temperature probes...? I know this would be quite pricey but is this possible? 4 - Fermenters 1 - Brite tank 1 - enclose tempe...
