Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
Ha!! Good point! I was trying to de-clutter the table for temps and outs that I don't have with the 460- I've since learned the way you've built each group. I should probably just start fresh, but figured I'd play with your setup first since you've put a lot more thought in on this than I. Here's 2 ...

Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
Oh and also meant to tell you I'm running windows 10 and seem to get slightly different behavior with the layouts loading if I run as Administrator vs just regular user. Maybe that's my issue??

Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
Rogue objects don't just show up. What are the object names that you are getting? Whenever in customization mode, clicking on an object will automatically create a new record in the XML file to store the customized values. The object names are pretty much anything that I've deleted previously- Shou...

Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
Thanks for clarifying that Jon. My connection looks good at 300 too now that I've got my address in there correctly; Could I add an indicator to show that I'm connected somehow? I suppose that would require some sort of logic or something. Also a few bugs have popped up on me, and they're probably c...

Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
To help others who may be having this issue I was having: when connecting the BCS you need to remove the 'http://' part of the url- copy and paste was inserting the http (there was no error or alert given to let me know it wasn't connecting). The #Reqs in the lower left corner of the app will show i...

Re: BCS Desktop App Pre-Release
This is another game changer! Loving the customization this allows!! A HUGE Thanks Jon--- I guess I'm due for a new touch screen now... :D One word of warning to others and a possible bug report or it may just be on my side (using windows 10) but when I select the '?' next to the XML Layout File: te...

Re: Wire options
Yeah, I got the jumper which definitely helped flatten out the wild spikes. I think it's my AC line to my fermentation heater that is running along side the temp probes. I get a weird jump in one temp probe and a drop in another right about the same time as my heater kicking on. It's minor so I'm no...

Re: Wire options
Jon- How do you recommend making the connections with the twisted pair for temp probes? Do you suggest having one of the twisted pairs feed the signal and the other of the pair the ground? Or sending the signal on one set of pairs and the ground on another (not sure I'm making sense here)? I'm picki...

Re: Datalogging / storing data
As a disclaimer: I'm NO programmer but was able to toss this together using the R language's Shiny package, so it's pretty crude but does the job and relies very heavily on the work of others so I can take no credit. With that said, I took this awesome tool that MikeRussell built and found a way to ...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 3
A few tips-- Don't change the name of the .bin file at all. Keep it as: bcs460.bin I save the hs_tftp_demo file for the application in the same folder as the .bin file. I assume you're on windows so open a command prompt. You may find this on the Start menu or search for it (or hit the Windows Butto...
