Re: Source for connectors?

I recently bought a set of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-x-Aviation-Plug-2-Pin-16mm-Male-and-Female-Wire-Panel-Metal-Connector-GX16-2-/111330481295 I haven't brewed with them yet but they seem to work well. I've seen them used on others systems - I went with them mainly due to cost- I think I pa...

Re: New - Timer Logic

Watch out if you're trying to trigger your Boil timer based on boiling temps. I originally did that but when I was at a rolling boil the timer never kicked off- because my temps were around 208F- I ended up simplifying it to start on a user input. I hate boil overs  so need to be there for tha...

Re: Edits won't save?

I had a similar issue a while back just connecting to the BCS. Turned out to be an issue with my browser saving and auto-entering the wrong password. Maybe try clearing the PW/Username??

Re: Hop Timer

Yeah, I have it programmed sort of one step behind... For example my second state ('First Addition') will start when I'm prompted by the blinking yellow of my first state ('Boiling'). I hit 'First Addition' and add the hops. pic2.png So I'm adding the hops at the start of each step. The exit conditi...

Hop Timer

I've been playing with the recipe utility and trying to devise a sensible timer method for hop additions. I think I've got something that works. I know there's many ways to skin this cat so here's one. Would like to see what others have come up with. I used JonW's suggestion of running process just ...

Re: Float Switch Issue

I'd suggest having the float switch wired inline with the signal line to the relay. That (almost) guarantees that it won't fire dry.

Re: Does my BCS 460 need to be re-flashed?

I think a lot of the issues also fall on the router you're running through too. An older router was constantly changing the ip despite having reservations established. Since replacing it with a newer and slightly more customizable router I haven't had any issues with connectivity. I use a net gear w...

Re: BCS 4.0 Public Beta 1

Use the utilities--> http://embeddedcc.github.io/bcs-backup/ Super quick and easy to save ALL the processes in one shot... The recipe mapping is a total game changer too. Once you get the variables mapped out its as simple as changing a few numbers for your recipe. Changes are instantaneous too! No ...

Re: The right heating element

1) I seem to remember a standard rule of thumb for boiling times using electric elements that has been posted on other homebrew forums. A quick scan around some of the electric brewing forums may help you get an idea. 2) I'd say the trend is moving towards putting it in the mash but the rims tube ap...
