Re: Common Grounds

Yes, you want to share grounds just as you have stated. If you introduce something like a 12V DC power supply to switch relays or valves, you also want to attach that ground to the common ground with the BCS.

Re: Alarm output port

I can't tell you if that will work for me because I don't have a clue about ladder logic!

I've searched on the wiki and in the forum and I can't find any examples of how this works.

Point me in the right direction and I'll check it out.

Re: Download data file with extension .CSV

I do a right-click and save-as to save the file. This allows me to specify the filename with a CSV extension.

Re: Firmware v3.3 released

AUTO IGNITION NEEDS MORE FLEXIBILITY! You have Out5 being designated as a shared ignition output. Since only Out0 through Out5 can be paired with a temp probe, this would force me to use a much needed temp controlled output for the ignition module when a simple output (Out6 through Out17) could hav...

Bug - Alternate PID temp probe assoc. descriptions wrong

Fairly minor bug here, but some of the temp probe association descriptions in the alternate PID state setup are displaying incorrectly.

Alarm output port

I'd like to see a system setup option where you could designate an output port as an "Alarm Output". Then within the state programming, you should have the option of selecting the alarm output port for pulsed or continuous output on state change. The "Alarm Off" button should als...

Re: Temp >= exit condition broken in processes 4-7

Ugh! I got bit by this bug today! I needed to add a heater to an output for my fermenter fridge, but using Process 7 caused it to loop between states since it could not accurately test the probe temperature.

Re: Can we add the ability to exclude a process from an all

All stop is more like an emergency button. Your normal brew process flow shouldn't rely on it for stopping your brew day.

Re: Fermenting and brewing

You can do both. You need to decide how many temp probes you need and how many inputs/outputs. That will determine if you need a BCS-460 or a BCS-462. I went with the BCS-462 so that I can have it run my 2 kegerators plus fermentor when I'm not brewing. It then does the whole brew day without interr...

That is only if your laptop was directly connected to the internet - which it is not - because you are behind your router. You can also accomplish thi...
