with that lamp you would want one side wired to neutral . and the other side wired to the side of the SSR that turns on when the BCS activates the relay via the CAT5 wiring.
if you wire before the SSR the lamp would be on all the time.. does that make sense ?

Re: Temperature probe stopped working
Thanks ... I doubt it could ever reach 185 in a tupperware. maybe when its 90 deg ambient out. however.. I have an extra heat sink.. I could mount that on the BCS's outer case and still seal it inside of a closed container. But thanks for the info.

Re: Control Panel
yeah.. I don't think it matters but a store bought CAT5 cable I think is crossed for normal computer to network communications. I have made a "cross-over" CAT 5 cable before. but as long as the colors go to the right SSR, it shouldn't matter.. was it crimped wrong or was the cable cut some...

Re: Temperature probe stopped working
I am sorry "wall wort" ? you mean the transformer? do you think it would be ok as long as it doesn't get physically wet. or can very high ambient water vapor harm the unit.. I am really thinking of incasing it while trying to make it able to sink heat away from the BCS.. thanks

Re: Temperature probe stopped working
see humidity gets to 100% and dew points . amount of water measured in the air gets up to 81 deg. F in the past. with 79 deg common. its like living in a steamy shower during the summer here in FL. My brewery is outside so I made the BCS unit detachable from everything else. I would have to open the...

Re: Temperature probe stopped working
I am actually referring to the control unit BCS not anything else. my heater SSR's are on heat sinks and the other ones are mounted to the back of my metal box with heatsink compound. if you totally waterproofed just the BCS would it over heat?

Re: Temperature probe stopped working
I appreciate your offer of standing behind your product! That really is great service. It turns out that it wasn't the product at all. Somehow the green connecter that the wires fasten into had backed away on one of the corners. I simply snugged the connector back into its place and it worked prope...
