Re: Stumped - RIMS gone wild?

That was one frustrating brew session. One lesson is never brew with a sinus infection, the mental processes are on slow speed. I won't relate all the stupid things I did. I rewired all the grounds to a terminal block for the probes and it seemed to fix the problem. However for some reason I oversho...

Stumped - RIMS gone wild?

Recently my RIMS seems to have a mind of its own. When the 3 way switch was in manual or off the RIMS temps kept rising. About to brew today and decided to tear things apart before proceeding. I took the SSR and the switch out and independent of the system tested them with a light bulb and/or meter,...

Re: Brewers Hardware RIMS Tube Beta Testers Needed

"You must also use a pump to move the wort across the element. A control relay must be installed that prevents the element’s control relay from closing unless the pump is operating. There are quite a few ways to accomplish this, but your system should be wired so that the element cannot energiz...

Re: Power Supply Option

Hi there, I've lost my power supply for my bcs-460 in the Nashville flood. Would you happen to know the Voltage and Amp ratings for the stock power supply? -Jay The info is here http://www.embeddedcontrolconcepts.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page#Technical_Specifications, hopefully you didn't lose...

Brew boards

A bit off topic, but I am fed up with HBT for general brewing discussions. Appreciate hearing what other boards people like the best that are free from childish nonsense. Mostly interested in exchange of real brewing info.

Thanks all!

Usually you use 1 o-ring and the other shown is a spare.

PID - how do they work?

Maybe I just don't understand the process, but can't for the life of me figure out how they work. When I am mashing out 168F and the temp on the RIMS heater shows 164F, why does the PID/RIMS heater go on and off instead of steady on? Is it not wanting to overshoot? But 4F seems like a big gap to be ...

Re: BCS Will Not Save Settings

I am so far from being an expert on this kind of stuff but the first & only thought I have is what browser are you using? Firefox is the choice to use, IE worked for me the one time I tried it but with some strange things, that's why I wonder about it. If that is not it, wait for the pro respons...

Re: Idea for Alert/Alarm/Popup Features

So this thread got me thinking about actually using the alarm and I tested my system today. No alarm at all sounded. With the default alarm shouldn't it just go by itself. I had it set to loop and nothing happens. On a Mac if that makes any difference. I had to find a MP3 file that could be referen...
