Cant conect to bsc 460

Just recieved my bsc 460 and i cant connect to it at all in fact im not convinced it has any power to it at all either, im in the uk and have an adaptor to run the unit but cant get any sence out of it at all i have 2 bsc 460 units and both are the same ive tryed all the advice on the forum and the bsc finder program too and still nothing which is making me think its a power problem.

Any advice ???

If both are experiencing the same problem I would look to the power conversion / adapter. Check the voltage to make sure the power supply is distributing the right power with the adapters.

Have you taken the MAC Address of each BCS and reserved an IP address for each in your Router config so that you can connect?

Ok so theres no orange lights ( i take it you mean from the cat 5 conection)

which should do the job but im still getting the same thing wich is nothing so cant find the mac address

Things to try:

Do you have a mulitmeter? Check for proper voltage and polarity (6-10vdc and center pin positive) at the power connector.

Try a different ethernet cable. There could be a problem with the one you're using.

Connect directly to the BCS, no router. Check firewalls.

Reset the BCS (http://www.embeddedcontrolconcepts.com/ ... Hard_Reset) Press for 20 - 30 seconds and then try http://192.168.0.63

OK so i dont have a milti meter so cant check the voltage but the adapetrs new so should be working

Checked the cat 5 cable on a network drive and that works tryed a 20 second reset and nothing seams to have happened and i still dont have any orange lights

Oh aye a further note i notived on the reset instructions it says if you do a 30+ second rest it defaults to 192.168.0.68 my printer was set to this and is now turned off so shouldnt be causing ip conflicts

I'd find a multimeter. Brand new doesn't always equal working.

Right ive aquired a multi meter and the adaptor does appear to be working so im guessing the faults with the power supply unit or the bsc unit returning eithers gonna be a pain as im in the UK
