EMAIL Alarms

Post by dgough »

Is there a trick to get the email alarms to work? I have my email address set and the email alarm flagged but I am not getting an email.

You need to turn on the setting globally and for each individual process stage that you want to send an email.

That did it. I didn't have 'Email notification on Alarm' checked under System Settings.
Thanks

blakeseven, it sends the emails through the embeddedcc.com mail server. We originally designed it to allow you to specify an SMTP server, but there were some issues with how to handle authentication. SSL is also a no-go on the device at this time, so instead of dealing with all the various requirements of different SMTP servers we decided to hard code values to use our own.

I am using firmware 3.7.1 and can't get this feature to work. I have enabled Email "notification on Alarm" in the system page. Then I have a process with the alarm email ticked when the state changes.

I have a timer set to change the state but when the state changes no email is received (the audio alarm works). Of course I checked the email address is correct and no spam filter is being used.

Any ideas?

Who's your ISP? Some ISP's block outbound port 25.

Ah I bet that is the problem. Is there anything I can do with the BCS?

Edit: For example I have my own web site hosting plan and email server.
