BCS is dead, wont power up at all.

Post by S. Parks »

My 462 just lost power and won't power up at all. In the last few days I had one output qit working and another that stayed on regardless if the process was asking it to or not. I changed outputs to solve that problem, but today everything is dead. I know it isn't the power supply or other connections because I put an old BCS460 that I have in its place and it powers up- fine. Any suggestion as what to try next? I've been running my system for about 3 years now with the 460 and just upgraded to the 462.

BCS finder doesn't see it either.

No amber or green lights.

Did you see the transfer work on the TFTP program? It only takes a few seconds for it to fully send the flash file.

This almost always comes down to networking issues.

What is the IP on your computer? How are you connected to the BCS? If you are doing a direct connect, switch to having both your computer and the BCS plugged into a router - it makes troubleshooting MUCH easier.

Hi Jon,
Long time no speak.
I did not see the file transfer. In fact it went so fast when I selected the file that I was surprised.
The only thing that happened was that it went dead.
System was working perfectly just before.
I was doing an upgrade to get latest version for 7 segment install.
I've connected via a router and directly.
Bcs finder sees nothing either way.
I've tried all the default ips as well.
The bcs shows no lights for network transfer.
It does have power though and I do get 5v on one of the terminals.

Contact ECC/Brewers hardware to arrange to send it back. They can bench flash it for you. It's highly irregular that a unit gets bricked from flashing. You might want to check that your flash file downloaded properly.

But all of my emails have been unanswered when I email tech@embeddedcc.com

Thanks
