It would be interesting to have the developers do a test and set the fallback address in the BCS code to an easy to remember address in the 169.254.0.0/16 network, such as 169.254.9.9 255.255.0.0

then, if you unplug your PC network cable, unplug the BCS network cable, and then plug them into each other, (and maybe power-cycle the BCS) the following should happen:

1 - The PC fails to get a DHCP afte rthe cable is connected and assigns itself a 169.254 address.. (usually something like 169.254.221.101/255.255.0.0).
2 - the BCS would fail to get a DHCP address and use the programmed 169.254.9.9 255.255.0.0

the two addresses are in the same network, so from the PC, going to http://169.254.9.9 should work with no configuration on anyone part...

This is the whole idea behind 'Link Local' addresses...

Anybody can try this. This is how 3.x works. The address of the BCS is 169.254.0.63.
