Unable to get 7 segment display to show data

Post by BREWMASON »

Connected the 7 segment display. Went into BCS-462 and validated display code was the same as display. Have tried all temp probe assignments and various other display codes but still just get "No Data" displayed? Am I missing something? Display is from brewers hardware and has Embedded Control Concepts stamped on board.

Have they ever worked? Usual problems are that data lines are not connected or reversed, or the BCS I2C port has been shorted and is now non-functional.

Just opened up box and connected as detailed at ebrewsupply website. The one thing I can think of that might be the culprit is the ( - ) from display to 12v DC power supply is not connecting directly ( straight ) back to BCS ground?

Yes, the (-) side of the 12V power supply should be tied to the BCS ground. It is also required for proper operation of your relay board.
