voltage regulator cutoff voltage

Does anyone know the cutoff voltage for the voltage regulator in the 462? My wall wort let out the magic smoke and I am going to replace it with a medical grade power supply. I have access to a 5V supply that will go to about 5.5VDC when the pot is turned all the way up. The output of the 6V one that came with it was around 6.3. I am sure there is a 5V regulator internal to the bcs. If the cutoff voltage is 5.5 or lower then this will work. If not I will have to get a 6v supply. I searched and could not find this anywhere. When the power supply failed my kegerator relay stayed on and froze about 30 gallons of really good beer. Hence my reason for looking for a more reliable supply. :(

I can't answer your question about the builtin regulator. I can say that I ran my BCS 460 without issue on 5V wall wort but I never measured it's actual output. It was suggested that using a 5V wall wort could under power the BCS when it's running a lot of outputs which I wasn't. You can go with a higher then 6V input but at the risk of increased heat of the builtin regulator. I expect your 5V supply will work if it provides enough mA.

My supply is 5 VDC 5 amps which is way more than the BCS will need. I plugged it into the wall last night and measured 5.8 V output with the trim pot turned all the way up. This is going to work fine and will be much more robust.
