I hope this "Pro" BCS project did not die. Anyone have any information on weather or not a BCS model will support 4-20mA in the next year?

It's not dead! We've been working on a number of things, including the "Pro" model BCS. We'll have more announcements coming in just a few months, so stay tuned!

So one of my friends (a couple actually, and they have some very geeky arguments since they like different microcontroller flavors) does embedded board design for a living I was lamenting about wanting 4-20mA when he said he just designed and built a board for a customer that had 4 channels of that the other day... and another board with all the bells and whistles to replace a PLC .. "all the bells and whisltes?" I replied? "Replace a PLC???"

He is going to let me play with one of them on a semi-permanent basis, but right off the bat I told him I liked web-server better than dedicated PC, but he said some guys are using win tablets and liking them..

Anyway... here is the list of what it has, you will see why I am drooling to try it until the new BCS is released (yes, software is 90% of the product, I know this will not do what BCS software will do, but the tools seem to be moving to PC anyway)

· 7V-48VDC input
· 120MHz ARM processor
· Unique hardware serial number
· USB peripheral (connects to PC)
· RS485
· LCD connection (QVGA)
· Load Cell inputs (x 4)
· RTD inputs (x 4)
· Conductivity probe input (isolated)
· pH probe input (isolated)
· Onboard generic buttons/LEDs
· 4-20mA Current Loop outputs (x4) (all individually isolated) with 12V boost for unpowered loops
· 4-20mA Current Loop inputs (x4) (all individually isolated)
· Solenoid Outputs (x 16)
· Hall Effect inputs (x4)
· DC Motor Drivers (x 4) (full bridge bi-directional with PWM speed control)
· Stepper Motor drivers (x 4) (chopper drive for maximum speed and efficiency)
· SD Card socket
· Generic onboard relay for external alarm or other actuator

I guess its my turn to stir the pot ask if it has been enough time to get more news on the BIG announcements about BCS Pro? :D
