Alternate PID

Post by oakbarn »

Would be excellent to also be able to change the Temp Probe associated with the OUT.

I have an element that I would like to heat and maintain with a probe inside the pot but latter switch to a different probe in a line to control the element with a PID

State 0 = Strike = Heat Strike to 166.3
Out 0 = Small HLT Element Temp Probe Association = Temp Probe 4 (Small HLT)

State 1 = HERMS = Maintain HERMS at 153.0
Out 0 = Small HLT Element Temp Probe Association = Temp Probe 1 (MLT AVG)

I know that I could Power the Small HLT Element with a different Out and associated Temp Probe and that is what I plan to do, but PWM Outs are limited. Being able to switch the Probe association in a State would be less $$ and require less wiring.

In 4.0, you can change the temp probe associated with an output at any state.
