recipe utility doesn't update all instances of a variable

I have not had luck with the recipe utility. If I have 4 different instances of "strike temp" for setpoints and exit conditions it only seems to update the first one and leaves the other 3 at the previous value. Not sure if this has anything to do with the browser I am using but I use chrome.
