Ability to Set Port Number When Using DHCP

Post by gthielen »

Hello,

I am using DHCP and need to be able to set the BCS port number, but it is currently only available when not using DHCP.

Unlike the IP address and gateway info, the port number is not typically part of the DHCP response, so it should be available whether or not the BCS is using DHCP.

Thanks!

That's a good suggestion.

In the interim, if this is for remote access, you can usually do a port forwarding/mapping to the BCS where the external port is different than the internal port. e.g. External 8080 forwarded to internal 80.

You're right. This should be accessible when using DHCP. Thanks for pointing that out.

I just did some testing. Changing the port while leaving DHCP selected does change the port while continuing to use the DHCP address/gateway/subnet. It's only a matter of labeling, but I'll make sure to move the port out of the section with the DHCP warning label.
