BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)
Re: BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)
Great idea. I use the restore to change which brew I am going to do
Re: BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)
Yes, me too - IMHO it's really good for that. In particular it facilitates tinkering with the process variables. Parameters such as brew size (5 or 10 galls), strike and mash temperatures, timing, pump / ball valves / floats etc. are examples of parameters that I store as JSONs for different brews depending on outcomes. As an inveterate experimenter (and who isn't that has a well-functioning BCS), I like to play around with the processes to see what works best
I currently use the Process 0 title to indicate whether I'm on a 10 or 5 gall operation. However, I do like the notion of switching on the system and seeing something up front like <Irish Stout 10 Galls Variant 1.1>.

You could write it into your brewery name field. That is 32 characters.

Yes, that's certainly one idea. Maybe another could be to insert some code that could (optionally) automatically add your JSON file name to this field each time you upload it? As I don't do coding, no idea whether this is even feasible.

Re: BCS-482 Specifications (replacement for BCS-460/462)
I am also having trouble restoring. I have a 462 with 4.0.1. I have tried the fixed utility. The behavior is different from the pre-fixed utility. I was getting the restore progress bar hanging at about 10%. Now the bar indicates it has finished, but the settings have not been restored. The IP address entry check mark still shows red, as if the utility hasn't confirmed that it can connect or that the device is valid. Help, please.

Which Backup are you using? You should use the one on the Settings page for a 462

When I use the link you suggest it just hangs. The progress bar shows about 10%. The IP address entry form has a check mark that is red.

When I use this link, the progress bar goes through completion, but the config stays the factory default. The IP address entry form also has a check mark that is red.

Any resolution to the restore issue described above? Having the same issue.
