BCS 4.1.2 Firmware Release

Post by brahn »

The BCS firmware has been updated to 4.1.2 (build edf0fe2c).

These are the changes in 4.1.2:
  • Display temps below 0C
  • Timers are selectable for display on main page
  • Better display for Timer names on main page
  • Fix issue selecting radio buttons on process editor
  • Add warning about settings being erased to Firmware Upgrade section
  • Display correct version for BCS-482

Temperatures below zero, it works - I am happy! BUT
something wrong with processes - when I start process, it does not start !!!
I realy can not recommend this upgrade.

You should always do a power cycle after firmware updates.

You may also have to clear your browser history. I have had to do this to get some new features to work.
Also just updated my Brewery BCS. For some reason the DHcP sever changed my ip address. it was 18x.1xx.0.218 before the update. It changed to 18x.1xx.0.181

A lot of the content is cached fairly aggressively in the browser to improve performance rather than loading from the BCS every time. At a minimum, a force reload of the page should be done after an upgrade.

I just realized that the DHCP worked fine. I have exchanged my unit as I was having an issue with my BCS (on board power regulator maybe??) and had sent it to Brewer's Hardware. I had totally forgot it was a different untit with a different mac addresss.

Hi,

Is this release compatible with BCS-462?

Thanks!

The firmware filename of bcs460.bin has always been compatible with both the BCS-460 and BCS-462.

The new BCS-482 also has v4.1.2, but in a different package & filename and updates to the 482 will be via USB.

Has new documentation been released for the 4.1.2 update? The only one I've been able to find is for 4.0 and doesn't outline some of the new features. Also, I noticed that the help links aren't working in 4.1.2 (ex: https://www.embeddedcc.com/r/4.1.2/main/outputs)

Thanks!
