You won't see a reference for an item in the XML file until you actually make a change to the base control. If you click the border area of Temperature_0_Panel, it will then create the entry in the XML file. Objects are not created there until they are modified.

With the current version, you cannot separate the panel, text and value elements of a temperature probe. The best you could do for now would be to move the text label outside of the visible area or set it's visible property to false, then resize the panel and move the temperature value to the top or center of the box. It will still have a border, but you could make it a small box with just the temp value showing.

When the 1.0 version is released, you will be able to do exactly what you are looking to do.

Stay tuned here for the update. It shouldn't be much longer. It's running very stable on RPi (and very fast). It just needs a few UI tweaks and I need to write up a how-to for people to get it onto the RPi.

Looking forward to this Jon. Been away from brewing for the past few years. Looking to get back in with a new build. Liking the idea of a built in touch screen similar to the one on homebrewtalk

The new version should be up in a day. I'm just doing an install on a clean Pi image to test everything out. It's running very stable on Windows, Linux & Raspberry Pi. I have not yet tested on Mac, but it should be fine there too.
