On a home system, I say it all comes down to personal preference for which style connections to use.

I NEVER worry about the whole sanitary argument. Everything in my system is either pre-boil (HLT/MLT) or if it is attached to the boil kettle (chiller), then boiling wort gets recirculated through it prior to chilling. The only place I would worry about threads and connectors is inside my fermenter - and there I use a sanke with the Brewers Hardware fermenter top.

I think the whole sanitary argument is over blown.

How do you like the stout vessels? I think that is the route im taking too. I noticed you have two inlets into your MLT. I need this same set up unless I want to get creative with a three way valve. Looking on Stout's website I don't see a MLT with two inlets. Was this a custom addition you did or did Stout custom a MLT for you?

Your system looks great. I have a similar system but haven't implemented the electric valves yet. Do you mind me asking what you're using and where you got them? Cost?

Thanks Much!!
