Thermocouple as Binary Input to DIN1??

Post by loandigger »

I want to use a burning LP pilot light as the ignition source for my Banjo burner to avoid any EMI issues
with a spark based system.

But for safety, I want to have a system state where my BCS-460 will not open the LP solenoid valve if the pilot light is out.

Standard BCS compatible Temp probes would melt if placed directly in or near the flame of the pilot light.

Can I use a standard RV pilot light/thermocouple to do this? (By connecting the Thermocouple to DIN1???)

I don't care what the temp of of the pilot light is, only that current is flowing thru it, which would indicate that the Pilot light is lit.

Thanks!
