DC power source

Post by BrooklynBrew »

I'm looking to add a 12V 8 channel driver board to my BCS so I can use some motorized ball valves. I'm assuming this needs a separate DC power source and things are getting a bit crowded in my control box.

Right now I have a regular wall outlet wired in to my AC circuit and the BCS wall wort plugs into that for power. Is there a more compact way to power the BCS? Better yet, is there a way to power the BCS and the 8 channel driver board off of the same source?

Thanks!

not really a way to do both off the same source, a 5V and a 12V power brick are the way to go in my opinion... I used a camera charger for the 5-6v (it also provides input power to the BCS, but this is not warranty approved) and some other power brick(with detachable input cord) for the 12V, it powers the relay board, the alarm strobe light, the wifi bridge, my wireless receiver for my easy button, etc...
at around 10 seconds in the below video, you can see them velcro'd to the side of the panel, the 5-6v is on the upper right, the 12v is on the upper left.
