I guess the older 7 segment displays are no longer made...
Can I use these?

Or is there a newer version in the works for Firmware 4.0

Re: 7 Segment Display
No, you can't use those as they don't support the same protocol.
BrewersHardware is already in process of having the displays made.

Will new firmaware alow timers to be displayed?
Re: 7 Segment Display
Not in 4.0, but it's on the post-4.0 roadmap.
Those displays would probably work, but it looks like they don't come programmed. You would just need to program them to read the data the way the BCS sends it over the wire. You could do this by looking at the code used by the currently supported displays or by contacting me to discuss the way it works. It's pretty simple.

I sure hope they can have them made in a PID form factor, the previous form factor was just about hideous...JonW wrote:No, you can't use those as they don't support the same protocol.

Re: 7 Segment Display
By form factor, are you talking about the size? They are just bigger than a Standard 1/16 Din cut out. PITA to make an enclosure.

Re: 7 Segment Display
Did I mention that in 4.0 we added the ability to run 8 of these displays?
