Valves?

Post by jmurm »

So far i will be controlling 2 pumps and 2 heaters with my controller, I want to control some solenoid valves. Does that mean i can only control 2 solenoid valves? What would i use the 4 Discrete Inputs for?

You can use the discrete inputs for float switches or a button to bump your process to the next step. Are you using the solenoid valves for fluid or for the gas?

Yeah, the base BCS-460 has 6 outputs. If you need more (for valves), you can purchase expansion cards, upto 4 each of which has an extra 12 outputs.

I will be using them for fluid. I was thinking of controlling the transfer from both my fly sparge and the transfer to the bk. I was thinking two for each step, so a total of four. I just built a float switch that will control a pump, so I can get rid of one of the pump outputs. So I should probably have to get an expansion card to to this.
