I have placed my BCS 462 on my home network using a standard Ethernet cable.
The BCS finder has found the BCS
IP: 192.168.0.63 MAC Address: aa:00:02:00:23:5c Client IP: 192.168.1.7 Application :Embedded Control Concepts
I opened CHROME and typed in 192.168.0.63
I get a connection error.
What is wrong?
Failure to Connect
Re: Failure to Connect
I did a hard reset (again, my 10th today) and it changed the IP to192.168.1.4
It now connects. AARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!

Re: Failure to Connect
I see that the third octet is now "1" and not "0". I am sure that is because the way my network is set up by the ISP who installed it (or for some reason that is beyond my pay grade). {192.168.0.63 vs 192.168.1.4}
I had hooked this up to a network at a condo while on vacation and it worked fine. I had put it on a Static IP on the BCS that had the third octet as "0" that worked fine on that network which may have caused the problem. It was not 192.168.0.63 but 192.168.0.77.
Perhaps a firmware fix in the future where if a Static IP is set and the does not connect within a time factor, it reverts back to DCHP mode.
Hint: DO NOT SET A STATIC IP IF YOU MOVE BETWEEN DIFFERENT NETWORKS.
Hint: If you fail to connect, do a 10 to 20 second HARD RESET.
Warning: There are three modes of HARD RESET. One resets the BCS back to the factory defaults and you may lose your configuration.
