RIMS Tube Help - Burnt Wort

Post by uksniggity »

After an adventure running errands while my mash program was running, I came home to discover a mash tun of burnt wort. My RIMS tube has a 3500w element, which is a bit more than I needed, but was the best option I found at the time. I redid the batch again with my March pump wide open and had no problems with burning. Given this thing needs a lot of flow to avoid the burning, is there a way to set a max duty cycle when in PID mode? That way I can run recirculate slower in situations where my mash tun cannot provide the necessary flow rate or to help avoid any potential for burning? I have a cooler that I want to use for smaller batches, and I know it won't be able to recirculate as fast.

On the "Settings" page under "PID Settings", there is a min and max pulse % field for each output.
