Methinks a netbook could work just as well. I've been researching netbooks since I decided on the BCS. It may be cheaper to buy a new battery for my 2YO 17" laptop.

when I was taking my computer science class, I had access to a stack of free mini computers. They were about 12" square. I wish I had held onto a couple of those..
Those are the ITX type right? we got a couple of them to boot up , but that is as far as we got to it.
